Why I'm Running

As a former Iowa legislator, I understand the critical importance of ensuring that Iowans’ tax dollars are spent wisely. As State Auditor, I will provide the necessary oversight to ensure that state and local governments use public funds appropriately. Using this important office to launch baseless investigations based on partisan politics is wrong and disrespects the people of Iowa who place their trust in this office to ensure sound government. In this office, it’s not about politics. Iowans deserve a high level of trust and confidence in their State Auditor to act fairly and impartially. I pledge to do so.

Endorsements

“I’m excited to endorse Mary Ann Hanusa’s campaign for State Auditor,” said Governor Kim Reynolds. “When Mary Ann was in the legislature she worked hard fighting for the people of Iowa and as our State Auditor, I have confidence that she will restore trust in the office.”

“I’ve known Mary Ann Hanusa for a long time and I’m pleased to endorse her campaign for State Auditor. She will work hard to protect Iowans' hard-earned money and help make sure government is accountable to the people,” said Senator Chuck Grassley.

“I’m proud to endorse Mary Ann Hanusa for Auditor because she’s a proven leader when it comes to protecting Iowans’ taxpayer dollars and standing up for our conservative values,” said Senator Joni Ernst. “Hanusa will provide much needed leadership to the Auditor’s office.”

On the high-profile endorsements, Mary Ann Hanusa said: “It’s an honor to receive the endorsements of three great Iowans and public servants. I look forward to winning in November and working alongside them to continue fighting for the Hawkeye State.”
